ProtumLink's column design combines the mechanical robustness of separate-emitter systems with the sensitivity and electrospray stability of integrated emitter technologies. The use of homogeneously tapered emitters stabilizes the packing bed and preserves a uniform emitter geometry, ensuring consistent performance across extended operation. This integrated approach reduces mechanical stress and signal variability, resulting in exceptional robustness, longer column lifetime, and sustained analytical precision.

Next-generation integrated emitter technology delivers exceptional robustness, extended column lifetime, and enhanced analytical sensitivity.

The ProtumLink Connect 25 cm columns have convinced us in our core facility in terms of their competitive performance, spray stability, and durability, while being cost effective. We have made them our standard column in our Vanquish Neo–timsTOF HT setup, and they have reliably integrated into our daily workflows.
The ProtumLink Extend 15 cm column has become our standard platform for routine 42 SPD proteomics. When integrated with our Orbitrap Astral and Vanquish Neo UHPLC system using a trap-and-elute workflow, it delivers exceptional stability and consistency. Even over months of continuous sample analysis, we achieve highly reproducible results close to what we get with columns from industry-leading vendors.
Running a proteomics facility, one of the major challenges is maintaining a robust liquid chromatography setup that combines high sensitivity, excellent reproducibility, and long service life, thereby balancing performance and operational costs. ProtumLink columns meet these requirements across a wide range of LC-MS configurations and applications, including global proteomics, low-input analysis, PTM studies, immunoprecipitation, and proximity labeling experiments. They consistently deliver excellent chromatographic separation, remarkably low backpressure, and high protein identification rates. Their performance is comparable to that of other state-of-the-art commercial columns, while offering significantly greater durability over time, with no noticeable decline in performance even after extended use.
For many years, we were highly confident in the quality of our self-packed capillary columns. However, we eventually had to acknowledge that the ProtumLink Core columns clearly outperform our own columns packed with 1.5 µm C18 beads in terms of robustness, reproducibility and the number of protein IDs obtained. We therefore decided to discontinue packing our own capillary columns, an easy decision given how reasonably priced the ProtumLink columns are.
We use ProtumLink Connect columns in our core facility because we are impressed by their performance, reproducibility, and long service life. Based on this experience, it was an obvious decision to use these columns exclusively on a larger scale, given their balanced performance-to-price ratio.
The columns from ProtumLink we evaluated demonstrated excellent performance, robustness and long-term stability. They were tested for global proteome profiling as well as complexome profiling, enabling the analysis of large sample series over extended periods (weeks to months) without significant changes in electrospraying and backpressure. These columns are highly user-friendly, flexible and truly plug-and-play, while delivering consistent and reproducible results. The products are well suited as a robust and one-stop solution for routine and high-throughput proteomics workflows.
